PT PMA Registration Underway — Jakarta or Batam Base Targeted

IntelliS is advancing its entry into the Indonesian market through the registration of a PT PMA (Penanaman Modal Asing, or Foreign Investment Company) entity, bringing the company closer to one of Southeast Asia's most promising offshore energy opportunities.

Why Indonesia?

Indonesia is emerging as a significant growth market for offshore energy, driven by several converging factors. The country's upstream oil and gas sector is seeing renewed investment, while a new wave of FPSO projects—both conversions and newbuilds—is creating meaningful demand for specialized engineering and project personnel.

Equally significant is Indonesia's growing offshore decommissioning sector. As mature fields reach end-of-life, the country faces a substantial offshore platform and well abandonment workload that will require specialized expertise and workforce capacity. This represents a new and growing service line for companies like IntelliS with deep experience in offshore project delivery.

Operational Base: Jakarta or Batam

IntelliS is evaluating two locations for its Indonesian operational base:

The final location decision will reflect client demand, talent availability, and operational logistics.

PT PMA Registration Process

The PT PMA structure is Indonesia's regulatory framework for foreign-owned companies and requires registration with the Ministry of Investment / BKPM. The process involves compliance with Indonesian company law, capital requirements, and sector-specific approvals from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). IntelliS is working with experienced local legal and corporate services advisors to ensure a smooth registration.

Completing the Four-Hub APAC Strategy

The Indonesian operation will complete IntelliS's four-hub Asia-Pacific strategy:

"Indonesia represents a pivotal chapter in IntelliS's APAC story. With FPSO project activity and offshore decommissioning work both on the rise, the timing is right to establish a local presence and build a team that truly understands the Indonesian context."

Building for the Long Term

IntelliS's approach to Indonesia is deliberate and long-term. Rather than pursuing a rapid entry, the company is investing in the right structural foundation—a locally registered entity, compliance with Indonesian regulations, and relationships with local partners and professionals—to ensure sustainable, high-quality service delivery from day one of operations.
