About This Role
An international EPC contractor is seeking a Subsea Structure Engineer to join their engineering team in Kuala Lumpur. You will design and engineer subsea structures including manifolds, PLETs, PLEMs, jumpers, and foundations for deepwater field development projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and engineer subsea structures: manifolds, PLETs, PLEMs, jumpers, and mudmats
- Develop structural design reports, fabrication drawings, and material specifications
- Perform structural analysis (static, fatigue, impact) using FEA software
- Coordinate with pipeline, riser, and installation teams on structural interfaces
- Support fabrication activities including shop drawing review and FAT attendance
- Prepare design documentation in compliance with DNV, API, and ISO standards
- Review vendor and subcontractor structural engineering deliverables
- Support installation engineering for subsea structure deployment and positioning
Core Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of subsea structural engineering experience
- Strong background in subsea structure design (manifolds, PLET/PLEM, jumpers, foundations)
- Proficiency with FEA software (ABAQUS, ANSYS, SACS, or equivalent)
- Knowledge of structural design codes: DNV-ST-F101, API 17 series, AISC
- Experience with subsea fabrication processes and materials (steel, clad, CRA)
- Bachelor's degree in Structural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with deepwater manifold and jumper design
- Knowledge of cathodic protection design for subsea structures
- Previous EPC project experience on SURF developments
