About This Role
A global EPC contractor requires a Principal Subsea Pipeline Engineer for their Kuala Lumpur office. You will be responsible for pipeline engineering across deepwater SURF projects, covering route selection, design, specification, and installation support for subsea flowlines and export pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead pipeline engineering for subsea flowline and export pipeline systems
- Perform pipeline route selection, alignment sheet development, and seabed survey interpretation
- Develop pipeline design specifications conforming to DNV-ST-F101 and project requirements
- Execute wall thickness calculations, buckling analysis, and pipeline integrity assessments
- Support installation engineering: S-lay, J-lay, and reel-lay method assessments
- Coordinate with subsea structure, riser, and flow assurance engineering teams
- Review vendor and subcontractor pipeline engineering deliverables
- Contribute to bid proposals and technical feasibility studies
Core Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of pipeline engineering experience in offshore oil and gas
- Expert knowledge of DNV-ST-F101 and pipeline design codes (API 5L, ASME B31.4/8)
- Experience with pipeline analysis software (OFFPIPE, ORCAFlex, ABAQUS, or equivalent)
- Proven track record on deepwater pipeline projects from concept to installation
- Strong understanding of flow assurance and its impact on pipeline design
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Pipeline Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with HPHT pipeline design and challenging seabed conditions
- Knowledge of pipeline fabrication, coating, and installation contracting
- Previous principal-level technical authority on pipeline projects
