About This Role
A leading EPC contractor requires a Subsea Control Systems Engineer for their KL-based subsea team. You will be responsible for the engineering of subsea control systems, including SCMs, umbilicals, and topside control equipment for deepwater production systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify subsea control systems: SCM, umbilicals, topside HPU and MCS
- Develop control system architecture, functional specifications, and interface documents
- Coordinate with subsea tree, manifold, and pipeline engineers on control requirements
- Review vendor technical proposals and participate in design reviews and FATs
- Define umbilical specifications and coordinate with umbilical manufacturers
- Support system integration testing (SIT) and pre-commissioning activities
- Ensure compliance with API 17 series, DNV, and client specifications
- Manage technical interfaces between SPS and SURF control systems
Core Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of subsea control systems engineering experience
- Expertise in subsea control system design: SCM, umbilical, HPU, MCS, EPU
- Experience with both direct hydraulic and electro-hydraulic control systems
- Knowledge of subsea communication protocols and fiber optic systems
- Familiarity with API 17D, API 17E, API 17F, and related specifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Control Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with all-electric subsea control systems
- Vendor-side experience with Aker Solutions, Baker Hughes, or OneSubsea
- Knowledge of subsea processing and boosting control system integration
