About This Role
An international EPC contractor is seeking a Senior Subsea Engineer with specialist expertise in subsea trees and intervention systems. Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will provide technical leadership on subsea Christmas tree selection, specification, and intervention engineering for deepwater projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical specification and selection of subsea Christmas trees (vertical and horizontal)
- Define intervention and workover requirements for subsea well systems
- Coordinate with subsea tree vendors on technical queries and design reviews
- Develop intervention procedures and equipment specifications for wireline/coiled tubing operations
- Support subsea control system design integration with tree and wellhead systems
- Review and approve vendor design documentation and FAT procedures
- Provide technical input for subsea system operability and maintainability reviews
- Interface with well engineering and completions teams on well intervention planning
Core Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of subsea engineering with focus on trees and intervention systems
- Deep expertise in subsea Christmas tree design, specification, and qualification
- Experience with subsea intervention systems: wireline, coiled tubing, light workover
- Knowledge of subsea control systems (direct hydraulic, electro-hydraulic, all-electric)
- Familiarity with API 17D, API 6A, and related tree and wellhead standards
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with latest-generation subsea tree technology (all-electric trees)
- Vendor-side experience with TechnipFMC, Baker Hughes, or Aker Solutions
- Previous deepwater project experience in Asia-Pacific
