About This Role
A major international EPC contractor is seeking a Senior Subsea Engineer specializing in FEED and concept design for deepwater SURF developments. Based in Kuala Lumpur, you will lead early-phase engineering studies and define technical solutions for subsea production systems across Asia-Pacific projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead FEED and concept selection studies for subsea field development projects
- Develop subsea system architecture and define equipment specifications for SPS and SURF
- Prepare technical evaluation documents and basis of design for subsea systems
- Coordinate with flow assurance, pipeline, and structural teams to optimize subsea layout
- Review vendor technical proposals and participate in FAT/SAT for subsea equipment
- Support project bid and proposal activities with subsea engineering expertise
- Interface with client engineering teams and regulatory bodies on design reviews
- Mentor junior subsea engineers and drive technical best practices
Core Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of subsea engineering experience with strong FEED background
- Proven track record in subsea field development planning and concept selection
- Deep understanding of SPS (Subsea Production Systems) and SURF engineering
- Experience with subsea hardware selection: trees, manifolds, jumpers, umbilicals
- Proficiency with subsea design tools and engineering software
- Familiarity with DNV, API, and ISO standards for subsea systems
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Subsea, or Ocean Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or equivalent professional registration
- Experience with deepwater (>1,500m) field development projects
- Previous EPC contractor experience on major SURF projects
- Knowledge of subsea processing and boosting systems
