About This Role
A leading EPC contractor requires a Senior Subsea Engineer with detailed design expertise for SURF projects in Asia-Pacific. Based in KL, you will manage the detailed engineering phase of subsea systems from design through fabrication and installation support.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead detailed design engineering for subsea production systems and SURF components
- Develop and review engineering deliverables: drawings, specifications, calculations, and MDRs
- Coordinate with fabrication yards on manufacturing and assembly of subsea hardware
- Support installation engineering and offshore campaign preparation
- Perform design verification and ensure compliance with project specifications and codes
- Manage technical interfaces between SPS, SURF, and topsides engineering teams
- Participate in design reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, and TRA workshops
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design engineers
Core Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of subsea detailed design engineering experience
- Strong background in subsea hardware design: manifolds, PLETs, PLEMs, jumpers, risers
- Experience managing engineering deliverables through design maturity gates
- Proficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, MicroStation) and stress analysis software
- Working knowledge of DNV-ST-F101, API 17 series, and related codes
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Structural, or Subsea Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with subsea fabrication oversight and vendor management
- Familiarity with subsea installation methods (S-lay, J-lay, reel-lay)
- Previous project experience in Southeast Asia deepwater developments
